Developed in the early 1800s by early childhood education pioneer Friedrich Fröebel, the Fröebel Gifts (“gabe” in German) are a series of simple toys and exercises which focus on geometric forms, colours and creativity. Gift 5 consists of natural wood cubes and triangular prisms (thirty-nine pieces in all), all contained in a wooden slide-top box. The pieces can be assembled together into a wide variety of forms to explore concepts of geometry, symmetry, proportion and dimension. Gift 5 comes in a wooden slide-top box measuring 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm.
