Developed in the early 1800s by early childhood education pioneer Friedrich Fröebel, the Fröebel Gifts (“gabe” in German) are a series of simple toys and exercises which focus on geometric forms, colours and creativity. Gift 7 consists of small wood tiles in eight shapes and eight colours, all contained in a wooden slide-top box. The pieces can be used to create a wide variety of parquet and mosaic-style designs, or for sorting and counting exercises. The tiles are 5 mm thick and come in a divided box with lid measuring 35 cm x 35 cm.
