Shadow Matching Activity

This activity develops a child's ability to recall and match images, which improves their visual discrimination skills and helps to prepare them for recognizing letters and numbers. The set includes 12 cards, each with a large shadow image at the top and three full-colour images at the bottom, one of which matches the shadow. The child uses one of the included counter discs to indicate which colour image matches the shadow. The activity can be made more challenging by covering either the shadow or the colour images so that only half of the card is visible at a time. The cards measure 21.5 cm (about 8.5") square, and are printed on heavy cardstock.
